Extra-Curricular Clubs – Summer Term 2017
We are delighted to be able to offer a wide range of extra-curricular clubs this Summer to further enrich the curriculum opportunities offered at King Athelstan. Each club leader has provided a brief summary of what their club will involve in order to help your child choose what they would like to do. This information can also be found on the school website and the school office.
If your child would like to attend a club, please complete the club booking and return it to the school office from 8:30am on Thursday 30th March. Forms will not be accepted prior to this time. If your child attends breakfast club please hand forms to the Breakfast Club team and they will be collected at 8:30am by the admin team. Please do not email forms prior to this date as they will not be accepted.
We endeavour to offer children their first choice of club, however, this is not always possible due to high demand. Therefore we recommend that you select more than one club for your child. If the activity you have selected is full, your child will be put on a waiting list and given a place if one is made available. Please note – there are limited spaces for all clubs and there is no guarantee that your child will get to attend a first choice club.
Children will be accepted onto clubs on a first come first served basis. You will be informed whether your child has been successful in securing a place by Friday 31st March.
Pupil Premium Places:
Each of the clubs will be offering free places for children with Pupil Premium funding. Each eligible child will be entitled to one free club per term. Pupil Premium funding is allocated to children who are entitled to Free School Meals (not universal free school meals) or those who have been entitled during the past six years. This applies to internal and external clubs. A minimum of 20% of places in each club will be reserved as Pupil Premium places.
Places will be allocated via ParentPay, if your child secures a place in a club this will appear as a new payment item on your ParentPay account. You will need to consent to your child attending a club in ParentPay, and you must use the notes field to notify us of who will be collecting your child.
All payments must be made via ParentPay and must be received by Friday 21st April.
Clubs commence after the May bank Holiday weekend from Tuesday 2nd May.
IMPORTANT: Any places not paid for by Friday 21st April will be cancelled and automatically allocated to the next child on the waiting list.
Please be aware that there may be weeks when we need to cancel clubs. Wherever possible we will try to avoid this. In the event that it is unavoidable we will try to give you as much notice as possible communicating by an email or by writing to you.
