School Meals

King Athelstan has a large hall where all the children are invited to eat their lunch. Children can bring a packed lunch from home or purchase a healthy, freshly made hot meal, prepared in our own kitchens by our catering team WilsonJones.

WilsonJones:

"We are an independent catering company based in Surrey who specialise in catering for the education sector. Our "Simply Fresh" mantra sums up everything about our company.

We have a very simple philosophy: Fresh food, well prepared, & served with a smile."

Please see the latest menu below. You should book meals from this menu on ParentPay, and can book weeks ahead.

Lunch price review January 2023

From January 2023, the cost of a school meal will increase from £2.45 to £2.50 daily for children in Year 3-6.

We are aware that the meal price was increased in September 2022, however, this was to cover an anticipated increase in meal price and energy. Unfortunately, the actual increases are greater and we need to increase the meal price again to cover our costs.

We appreciate these are challenging times financially. If you have any concerns about paying for your child’s school meals please do not hesitate to contact us in confidence at admin@kingathelstan.rbksch.org and we can arrange a time to discuss this with you.

Free School meals – does your child qualify?

All children in Reception, Year 1, and Year 2 are entitled to free school meals automatically.

If you are in receipt of benefits, your older children may be entitled too.  For further details, click here.

How to book – do it in advance!

  • See below for our current menu.
  • School lunches are booked via your ParentPay account.
  • Save yourself time! You can book in advance and all the way up to Easter 2023.
  • Lunches must be booked by 7.30 am on the morning of the lunch at the very latest.
  • If a child has not been booked in for lunch on time, we will call and request that parents provide a packed lunch, so please make sure you have booked in advance.
