Outdoor Learning Environment

We are happy to report that work on our Big Outdoors Project in the KS2 playground at the back of the school was completed in 2020 and we are delighted to share some photos (below).

A fantastic new MUGA (Multi-Use Games Area) was installed (right). The PCSA have planted new hedging around the perimeter of the school to help with our green environment (see below). Work on the rest of the playground commenced after Easter when the lockdown permitted, and was completed in time for the new school year.

The designs for the playgrounds were ambitious and fulfil all our requirements for providing our children with a rich, inspiring environment in which they can learn, play and relax. Phase 1 (the KS2 playground) has now been completed.

However, further funding is required for the next phases of the project: the nature and wildlife areas, and then the KS1 playground. We know it is difficult at the moment, but if you are able to support us in raising funds to create our dream outdoor environment, then your donation or support would be greatly appreciated.

At King Athelstan we ‘dream big’ and the final outdoor learning environment will certainly be an incredible addition to our school.
