If your child requires short term medication, such as antibiotics, the school will be able to administer it if it required 4 or more times per day. In this case, please complete the form here. We can only give medication in school within the instructions detailed in this form. If the medication is required 3 times per day or less, parents/carers will need to administer it outside of school time. For further information please see our Medicines Policy.
Please contact us by 08:50 if your child is unwell and going to be absent from school. A message can be left on the school absence line 020 8546 8210 or an email sent to admin@kingathelstan.rbksch.org and should include your child’s full name, class and reason for absence.
For further information please see the NHS Guidance for different illnesses and when to keep your child home from school.
Every effort should be made to arrange medical appointments outside school hours to minimise the impact on your child’s education. If a medical appointment falls within the school day your child will be expected to attend school before and after the appointment.
Absence for a medical appointment can be authorised if evidence of the appointment is emailed to admin@kingathelstan.rbksch.org or is brought to the school office before the date of the appointment so that we can inform teachers of the arrangements. We will need to take a photocopy of your appointment card or letter. Evidence should be:
The original or a clear copy/photograph of an appointment card, letter, email, text confirming the details of the appointment. It should include the child’s full name, appointment date, time, and location.
All children in Reception, Year 1, and Year 2 are entitled to universal free school lunches automatically. Currently, Year 3 to 6 children also receive free school lunches (until at least July 2025) as part of the London Mayor's initiative.
