Year 5 Trip to Science Museum

On Tuesday 3rd February Year 5 were lucky enough to go on yet another trip!

This time they went to the Science Museum in London to look at the displays on Space in relation to their topic.

They arrived and saw a wonderful 3D film called 'Space Station 3D.'  They had to wear 3D glasses that made everyone look funny and caused lost of laughter! The special effects were amazing:

It really felt like you could reach out and grab things. When the rocket blasted off, the smoke billowed around us and debris even hit us and broke our glasses!

The children watched an actor in role as Gene Cernan, an astronaut, talking about his experience in Space. He knew loads and the children had really interesting questions for him which he answered from his personal experiences.

They were also able to see lots of models of space shuttles and stations on their way through the museum. They even saw some parts of rockets that were from real space missions.

Overall it was a great day and all the children had lots of fun learning new facts about space.
