On Friday 23rd January Year 5 went to the British Museum to support their learning about Ancient Greece.
When they arrived, they took part in a workshop to learn about the way in which the Ancient Greeks told stories using pictures. These would often be displayed on pottery as decoration, and they were lucky enough to see the amazing collection of artefacts from Ancient Greece as they continued their day exploring the museum.
The children were busy with a 'treasure hunt' and proved to be experts at looking for clues and fact finding. They were able to identify many Greek Gods and myths from their detective work, and learnt a lot about materials that are well preserved.
They are now all really keen to begin their topic on Ancient Greece, and look forward to using their research so far, to continue building their knowledge of this fascinating era.
