On Monday 16th May Year 4 went to Bushy Park as a part of their topic "Living Things and their Habitats."
The session was led by a park tutor and the children had the opportunity to make links between plants, animals and the environment they live in. They studied inter-dependence, adaptations, food chains and the role of micro-organisms in the eco-system.
A popular activity was the pond dipping where children investigated what plants and animals live in the pond. The children had a wonderful day exploring the park and learning about local living things and their habitats.
I saw a Koi Carp in one of the ponds. I learnt that these fish were originally bred in Japan for their beauty. -Year 4 pupil
