40acts
Today in assembly we talked about the Christian festival of Lent, where people give something up, or take something up for the 40 days before Easter. Linked to our own daily random acts of kindness we have decided to be part of “40 Acts” (a national initiative). Each day, we will carry out one act of kindness or generosity within a given theme. For example, the acts include: “Give somebody a nice compliment today” or “be a friend to a shy person”. We think the 40 Acts are child-friendly and will assist with generosity and community spirit, mutual respect and tolerance and helping the children to become good citizens. We plan to publish one suggestion daily, and will encourage the children to carry them out in school.
