Our Nursery class is called Klee, after artist Paul Klee (right), and is part of our Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS). Children over the age of 3 are eligible for the 15 Free hours of Nursery Education Grant – for the September intake children must be 3 on or before 31st August and for the January intake 3 on or before 31st December (subject to availability). We do not currently offer 30 hours funding. Applications for nursery places are normally due in the March of each year.
We run two 3 hour sessions:
In nursery children enjoy a mixture of structured, teacher led activities and free play. Children are taught the phonetic alphabet (sounds and actions), numbers and counting using a variety of interactive techniques. The team have worked hard to create an amazing learning environment using both the classroom and the beautiful outside, purpose built, play equipment. This outdoor learning extends beyond the play equipment to a Wild Area and the growing of a range of vegetables. Children are expected to attend every session.
Our aim is to prepare the children for Reception, and school in general, by introducing them to the Early Years curriculum, school routines and expectations.
Our nursery team are highly experienced and deliver a high quality provision where children flourish.
Within our nursery we also have provision for 8 children eligible for 2 year old funding (4 morning places and 4 afternoon places). For the September intake children must be 2 on or before 31st August and for the January intake 2 on or before 31st December (subject to availability and eligibility).
Your child must be eligible for 2 year funding to be considered for a place. To apply for funding please use the link below, if successful please bring your confirmation letter along with a completed admission form to the school office.
